It ;s an online book that was released for free under a Creative Commons license. They are both exciting and a fascinating topic to explore in any programming language. I've written a few open source books like Essential JavaScript Design Patterns, Backbone.js Fundamentals; I'm on the jQuery team, I've contributed to open source projects like Modernizr and I do some other open source stuff on my spare time.
